We are a group of talented photographers travelling Australia to capture your day, with all of the feel-good,luxury film vibes without the high price of analogue.

HEARTLANDS is the sister studio to The Runaway Hearts, an all film wedding photography company by Kara Riley.

You want your wedding photos to feel chic but fun, like the pages of a 90’s vogue magazine/

You care about a FILM aesthetic, but love a mix of classic clean lines as well as fun, filmy colours.

HOW IT WORKS

Once you make your booking with us, one of our talented photographers will chosen to capture your day using a mix of both digital and film camera’s. All of your images are lovingly edited by our founder Kara, with a lush analogue film aesthetic, in both black & white and colour.

FAQs

  • Our office is based in Melbourne, but we have photographers in all cities Australia wide.

  • We shoot mostly digital with a bit of film, editing all of our digital images to look like the film colours from your wedding day. There is one roll of film included in our main package, with the option to add more.

  • Just a $500 deposit books you in for your wedding date. Nice and simple.

    The balance is due 30 days before your wedding.

  • Our base photography package is 7 hours which we have found to be the perfect amount of coverage for most weddings, covering a bit of 'getting ready', your ceremony and your groups shots/portraits as well as the first part of your reception.

    This package is $3500

  • Turnaround time is approximately 6-8 weeks, sometimes slower or faster depending on the season.

    Your sneak peek is ready within one week of the wedding.

  • We can add on extra time, second shooters and more rolls of film on request. Get in touch for a custom quote.

    In 2025 we are adding content creation and videography to our services due to popular demand!

  • Our studio manager assigns your photographer based on location and availability. All of our photographers shoot in our signature style whilst capturing Heartlands weddings, keeping things super consistent across the board. Everything is edited by our founder Kara in our beautiful signature style.
